Deals Rumor Mill: Dell, Billabong, Lenovo

By Karlee Weinmann (March 29, 2013, 2:04 PM EDT) -- Dell Inc. founder and CEO Michael Dell has met with representatives from The Blackstone Group LP to discuss a potential bid from the New York private equity firm that would rival an existing $24.4 billion offer partially backed by the executive, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. Blackstone and activist investor Carl Icahn are expected to lob competing bids at the Texas computer company, which is under fire from investors after its board signed off on the bid sponsored by Michael Dell and his private equity partner, Silver Lake Partners. It was unclear what the founder discussed with Blackstone, which has said it would consider keeping him in the corner office if its bid wins....
