Insider Trader Of Dell, Nvidia Stock Pleads For Leniency

Law360, New York (April 19, 2013, 6:54 PM EDT) -- Todd Newman, a hedge fund executive who was convicted of insider trading in Dell Inc. and Nvidia Corp. shares, asked a New York federal judge Friday for a lenient sentence, saying he was not at the center of the scheme.

Newman’s lawyers asked for a sentence below the 63 to 78 months called for under federal sentencing guidelines, saying Newman was not the main player in what prosecutors called a “criminal club” of financial industry professionals who swapped confidential information on technology companies.
