Craigslist's Claims Trimmed In Real Estate Listings Row

Law360, Los Angeles (April 30, 2013, 3:46 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday dismissed some copyright and civil conspiracy claims that Craigslist Inc. leveled against real estate listing companies 3Taps Inc., PadMapper Inc. and Discover Home Network Inc. over accusations that they "scrape" Craigslist's content and republish it in real time.

The decision comes about six months after 3Taps responded to Craigslist's July 2012 copyright suit by lodging counterclaims accusing the listing site of engaging in anti-competitive business practices to maintain a monopoly in the online classified ads market. 3Taps, which compiles and...
