5th Circ. Pares Age Bias Judgment Against Raytheon

Law360, New York (May 3, 2013, 8:53 PM EDT) -- Raytheon Co. convinced the Fifth Circuit on Thursday to further whittle down a jury's age discrimination verdict against it that a judge already hacked from $17 million to about $1.9 million, with the appeals court concluding that damages for emotional distress cannot be sustained without medical testimony.
