$10M Acosta Wage Settlement Gets Preliminary OK

Law360, Los Angeles (May 6, 2013, 2:25 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge said Monday he would preliminarily approve marketing giant Acosta Sales LLC’s $9.9 million settlement with a putative class of more than 6,000 merchandisers who claim they weren't paid proper wages and overtime.

If given final approval, the agreement would end the two-year-old lawsuit claiming Acosta refused to take driving time into account when calculating wages for merchandisers, whose primary job is to make sure products are being displayed properly at retail stores.
