FLSA Filings Jump As Cos. Grapple With Outdated Law

Law360, New York (May 9, 2013, 8:29 PM EDT) -- The number of new Fair Labor Standards Act suits surged by 10 percent in the past year, according to statistics released Thursday, continuing an upward trend in FLSA filings that lawyers said stems from shifting economic conditions, greater awareness of wage and hour issues, and the inherent difficulty of applying a 1938 law to the modern workplace.
