Anonymous-Linked Hacker Admits To Data Theft Conspiracy

Law360, New York (May 28, 2013, 6:42 PM EDT) -- A computer hacker linked to the group Anonymous pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiring to steal data from intelligence firm Strategic Forecasting Inc. and others.

Jeremy Hammond faces up to 10 years in prison for conspiring to hack into systems belonging to Stratfor and other entities, including the FBI, an Alabama sheriff’s department and a Boston police association. Prosecutors say he was a member of AntiSec, an offshoot of Anonymous.
