Warburg Consortium Puts $200M Into Vietnamese RE Co.

Law360, New York (May 29, 2013, 2:34 PM EDT) -- A group of investment firms led by private equity giant Warburg Pincus LLC has invested $200 million in Vietnam's leading real estate operator Vingroup Joint Stock Co., the biggest investment a U.S. private equity firm has ever made in Vietnam, Warburg and Vingroup announced Wednesday.

The Warburg consortium, which reportedly also includes Vietnamese financial services firm Dragon Capital and Credit Suisse AG, will take a 20 percent equity interest in the company's retail arm and participate in future capital raising efforts of up to $25 million,...
