Petraeus To Run KKR Think Tank After CIA Ouster

Law360, New York (May 30, 2013, 1:25 PM EDT) -- Former CIA director and retired Gen. David Petraeus, who resigned from the CIA after admitting to an extramarital affair, will head KKR & Co. LP's new global investment think tank, the New York private equity giant said Thursday.

A four-star general who commanded American military forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, Petraeus will be the first chairman of the KKR Global Institute. Petraeus will help KKR expand the efforts of its portfolio companies, particularly in new foreign locations, and lead due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions in emerging markets by KKR affiliates.
