HSBC Leaving Hundreds In Foreclosure Limbo, NY AG Says

Law360, New York (June 4, 2013, 12:48 PM EDT) -- The New York state attorney general on Tuesday accused HSBC Bank USA of leaving hundreds of New York homeowners in limbo by foreclosing on them but failing to file legal papers designed to bring the sides in front of a judge or referee for an effective resolution.

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman's lawsuit, filed in Erie County Court, says HSBC violated New York law requiring residential mortgage lenders, servicers and their agents who sue to foreclose on a homeowner to file a Request for Judicial Intervention...
