Biggest-Ever Web Privacy Class Gets 7th Circ.'s OK

Law360, Los Angeles (June 11, 2013, 8:39 PM EDT) -- The Seventh Circuit on Tuesday denied comScore Inc.'s appeal over the certification of what is believed to be the biggest-ever class in an Internet privacy lawsuit, made up of individuals claiming comScore collected personal data from computers and sold it to media outlets without users' knowledge or consent.

ComScore allegedly obtained confidential information including passwords, PDF file contents and the names of every file on the computers of tens of millions of users through software distributed by “bundlers” that provide free digital products online.
