U.S. Attorneys Probe Rayovac Maker

Law360 (November 14, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- In an unusual move, a U.S. Attorneys’ Office beat the Securities and Exchange Commission to an investigation of Spectrum Brands Inc., the consumer products maker that manufactures Rayovac brand batteries.

The Atlanta-based company, formerly known as Rayovac Corporation, said Monday federal prosecutors from the Northern District of Georgia have begun investigating the company’s recent financial outlook disclosures.
