Attys Colluded On Rawlings Ad Action Deal, Plaintiff Says

Law360, New York (June 17, 2013, 3:54 PM EDT) -- A plaintiff in a putative class action alleging Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. Inc. deceptively advertised an athletic performance bracelet objected Friday to a proposed $100,000 settlement in a related New Jersey class action, saying the parties colluded on an “illusory and valueless” deal.

Stacy Orlick asked the New Jersey federal court to reject the proposed settlement submitted by plaintiff Ian Steiner and Rawlings in a related class action, saying they “reverse auctioned” a paltry settlement in their dispute after she had sent Rawlings a settlement demand...
