NJ Formally Adopts Rules To Speed Sandy Rebuilding Projects

Law360, New York (June 20, 2013, 8:12 PM EDT) -- New Jersey’s Department of Environmental Protection on Thursday announced that Gov. Chris Christie’s administration has adopted rules to streamline the permit process for certain types of rebuilding projects to speed the state’s recovery from the damage wreaked by Superstorm Sandy.

The new rules, outlined in a DEP press release, first took effect on an emergency basis in mid-April following an official declaration of imminent peril signed by DEP Commissioner Bob Martin.
