Solar Panel Co. Can't Shed Customer's False Ad Action

Law360, Los Angeles (June 20, 2013, 7:04 PM EDT) -- A California judge refused Thursday to toss a putative class action accusing SunRun Inc. of improperly promoting solar panels' cost-effectiveness by making misleading claims about rising electricity costs, ruling a customer adequately pled he wouldn't have given SunRun his money if not for the alleged misrepresentations.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge John Shepard Wiley Jr. ruled that Shawn Reed, who had entered a contract with SunRun in 2011, adequately pled that he never would have bought the San Francisco-based company's solar panels had the misstatements...
