Ex-Cook County Official Cops To Extortion, Bribe Schemes

Law360, Chicago (July 1, 2013, 2:35 PM EDT) -- A former Cook County Commissioner pled guilty in Illinois federal court Monday to one count of conspiracy to commit extortion, admitting that he used his political sway to secure a government contract for a co-defendant and also took bribes tied to a contract for public hospital bandages.
