Auto Parts Cos. Fixed Prices On Safety Gear, Suit Says

Law360, Los Angeles (July 3, 2013, 8:54 PM EDT) -- A group of automobile dealers hit suppliers of auto safety devices with a putative class action in Michigan federal court on Wednesday, saying the companies engaged in a conspiracy to unlawfully fix and artificially raise the prices of seat belts, airbags and steering systems.

The dealer plaintiffs say the suppliers of occupant safety restraint systems engaged in a massive conspiracy to fix prices of their products and successfully targeted the long-struggling United States automotive industry, raising prices for car manufacturers and dealers alike.
