Blizzard Gets Consumers' Claims Pared In Data Breach Row

Law360, Chicago (July 12, 2013, 5:08 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Thursday handed Blizzard Entertainment Inc. judgment on most claims in a putative class action over a data breach that compromised user information for players of its video games, finding the consumer plaintiffs failed to adequately show they suffered any harm.

U.S. District Judge Beverly Reid O'Connell granted part of Blizzard's motion for judgment on the pleadings, dropping claims of unjust enrichment, negligence, breach of contract and bailment and giving plaintiffs Benjamin Bell and Christopher Spellman the chance to replead those claims...
