WTC Developer Can't Seek Damages Against Airlines: Judge

Law360, New York (July 18, 2013, 7:03 PM EDT) -- A New York judge ruled Thursday that World Trade Center developer Larry Silverstein may not pursue billions in potential damages against airlines over financial losses sustained in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, ruling that more than $4 billion in insurance payments his companies have received covers the loss.

Addressing a crowded Manhattan courtroom, U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein said the hefty insurance payments offset any potential damages Silverstein's World Trade Center Properties LLC and 7 World Trade Company LP may have received via lawsuits...
