Law360, New York (July 18, 2013, 4:33 PM EDT) -- A disc jockey who energy drink maker Monster Energy Co. claims gave it permission to use songs by the Beastie Boys on Thursday told a New York federal judge that just because he called a Monster video of him remixing the rappers’ material “dope” doesn’t mean he was authorizing the use of their music.
