Tennessee Workers Peck Tyson With FLSA Suits

Law360, New York (February 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Tyson Foods Inc. workers in Tennessee are expected to have their wage-and-hour lawsuits conditionally certified as collective actions after filing the suits before a court-imposed deadline.

Workers filed suits in two Tennessee federal courts on Thursday. The suits accuse the chicken producer of failing to pay workers in its Union City and Shelbyville, Tenn., plants for time donning safety gear and overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
