Paving Co. Indicted In $88M Gov't Contracts Fraud

Law360, Chicago (July 25, 2013, 4:36 PM EDT) -- A North Carolina construction company was indicted Thursday for allegedly defrauding the government by securing $87.6 million in federal contracts through a scheme that made it appear the company was working with a minority-owned business.

Monroe, N.C.-based Boggs Paving Inc., its owner and CEO Carl Andrew Boggs III as well as several other alleged co-conspirators were charged with conspiracy to defraud the U.S. Department of Transportation and various other fraud and money laundering charges stemming from the decade-long scheme, according to the 29-count indictment.
