2nd Circ. Told YouTube Judge Is Clueless About Copyright Law

Law360, New York (July 30, 2013, 7:14 PM EDT) -- Viacom International Inc. asked the Second Circuit on Friday to reinstate its $1 billion copyright suit against YouTube and assign the case to a new judge, saying the one who granted summary judgment to the Google Inc. unit doesn't understand copyright law.

In April, U.S. District Judge Louis Stanton granted summary judgment to YouTube for a second time, holding that the site is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and cannot be liable for hosting clips from Viacom shows.
