Transocean Slams BP, Anadarko Bid To Avoid Spill Blame

Law360, New York (August 5, 2013, 5:51 PM EDT) -- Granting BP PLC and Anadarko Petroleum Corp.'s bid to evade liability for Clean Water Act violations in the Deepwater Horizon disaster would unfairly shift all offshore spill liability to drilling contractors and upend the economics of the offshore drilling industry, Transocean Ltd. told the Fifth Circuit on Friday.
