Law360, Los Angeles (August 5, 2013, 8:28 PM EDT) -- BP PLC on Monday again asked a Louisiana federal judge to stop settlement payments related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, claiming that the firms of two lawyers were representing claimants while the lawyers simultaneously issued rulings through an appeals panel supervising the claims.
Last month, a district judge denied the energy giant's previous attempt to stop payments until a former FBI director finishes investigating misconduct allegations against an attorney for the court-supervised settlement program.
