SEC Won't Let Citco, PwC Depose Officials In Madoff Suit

Law360, New York (August 6, 2013, 4:31 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday again refused to allow nine current and former officials who had worked on the investigation into Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme to be deposed by Citco Group Ltd. and PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in their attempt to clear their names in multidistrict litigation in New York federal court.

Citco and PWC claim the employees' testimony is necessary to rebut claims that they aided a Madoff feeder fund. But an unnamed authority delegated by the SEC in June said that it would not authorize...
