JPML Won't Combine Kashi False Labeling Suits

Law360, New York (August 7, 2013, 12:44 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation refused to combine four class actions against Kashi Co. in California on Tuesday, saying the suits, which accuse the snack maker of hiding sugar content by instead listing “cane juice” in product ingredients, are not complex enough to warrant combination.

Although the Kellogg Co. subsidiary did not oppose the motion to combine a New Jersey class action with three California suits, the panel nonetheless determined that the issues in those suits are not complex or numerous enough to justify...
