Sonic Restaurants Evades Text Message TCPA Suit

Law360, Chicago (August 12, 2013, 4:36 PM EDT) -- A Georgia federal judge on Monday dismissed a putative class action accusing Sonic Restaurants Inc. of peppering consumers with unwanted text message advertisements after the plaintiff agreed with the fast food chain that the case should not go forward.

Lawyers for plaintiff Christopher J. Nelson and Sonic signed a stipulation of voluntary dismissal in the case, which U.S. District Judge Willis B. Hunt approved, according to court records.
