Ex-Bloomberg Employee Loses Bid To Certify OT Class

Law360, New York (August 16, 2013, 5:10 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Friday denied class certification in a lawsuit a former Bloomberg LP technology employee brought over claims that he was underpaid overtime.

U.S. District Judge Denise Cote said a lawsuit brought by Lee Siegel, a former employee at Bloomberg’s internal technical support desk, was too small to go forward as a class action under New York labor law.

At best, 33 service desk representatives would be included in the class action, the judge said in a written opinion.
