Dukes Plaintiffs Take Class Cert. Battle Back To 9th Circ.

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 7:18 PM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in the high-profile sex discrimination lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. led by Betty Dukes urged the Ninth Circuit on Friday to review a California federal court's decision to reject their bid for certification of a narrowed class of female workers.

The named plaintiffs in the longstanding suit are asking the appeals court for permission to appeal U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer's Aug. 2 decision to deny their motion to certify three classes consisting of women who worked in three of Wal-Mart's regions in California...
