Tampa Bay Buccaneers Say Settlement Offers Kill TCPA Suit

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 9:00 PM EDT) -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers asked a federal judge on Wednesday to scuttle accusations that the franchise sent spam fax transmissions to Florida residents, saying settlement offers had rendered the proposed class action moot.

Buccaneers LP, which operates the NFL franchise, urged the court to toss a proposed class action from Jeffrey M. Stein and five other plaintiffs, saying the club had made settlement offers to each of the plaintiffs of $1,500 for each fax they received.
