Pratt & Whitney, EADS Sued Over Pilot's Plane Crash Death

Law360, Chicago (August 26, 2013, 8:37 PM EDT) -- The widow of a pilot killed when his turboprop crashed in Wisconsin in 2011 hit EADS Socata and Pratt & Whitney Canada Inc. with a wrongful death suit on Friday, claiming the plane and its engine were defective.

France-based EADS, which made the plane, and P&W, which made the engine, are both liable for the death of Phillip Pines and the emotional distress inflicted upon his family, according to a complaint filed in Illinois state court by Pines’ widow, Joan Pines.
