San Francisco Giants Pay Up After Lowballing Worker Hours

Law360, New York (August 30, 2013, 6:33 PM EDT) -- The San Francisco Giants will pay over $500,000 in back wages to 74 clubhouse and administrative employees after a U.S. Department of Labor investigation found that the baseball team shortchanged the workers, the agency said Thursday. 

Giants leadership were paying the employees less than minimum wage and denying them overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, according to the DOL. The violations happened both at the major and minor league levels.
