Calif. Lawmakers Back Online Privacy Shields For Minors

Law360, Chicago (September 3, 2013, 5:49 PM EDT) -- The California State Legislature on Friday sent a bill to Gov. Jerry Brown that would bolster privacy protections for children using Facebook and other social media by allowing them to delete inappropriate material they have posted online.

The bill, sponsored by Sen. Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, cleared its final hurdle before the governor's desk when the Senate approved certain amendments in a 38-0 vote, according to Steinberg representative Margie Estrada.
