Ex-NJ Pol Gets Probation For Campaign Fund Grift

Law360, New York (September 5, 2013, 9:12 PM EDT) -- A former Jersey City, N.J., council candidate who pled guilty to improperly converting up to $1,000 in federal campaign funds was sentenced Wednesday to 18 months probation and assessed a fine in New Jersey federal court.

Lori Serrano, the former chairwoman of the Jersey City Housing Authority, pled guilty in April to using the funds before U.S. District Court Judge Jose L. Linares.
