DirecTV Hit With TCPA Suit Over Robo-Calls

Law360, New York (September 6, 2013, 3:41 PM EDT) -- DirecTV LLC was hit with a proposed class action in California federal court Thursday for allegedly using a robo-caller to target nonclients' phones for marketing purposes.

Tara Miller alleges that DirecTV called his mobile phone many times and left messages, despite his telling the company not to. According to his complaint, Miller wants $2,000 for every violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act against him and members of the proposed class, which he says numbers in the hundreds of thousands.
