Verizon Investors Sue To Block $130B Vodafone Deal

Law360, New York (September 6, 2013, 5:41 PM EDT) -- A putative class of Verizon Communications Inc. shareholders sued the company Thursday in New York state court, seeking to block its $130 billion deal to purchase Vodafone Group PLC's stake in Verizon Wireless, the third largest M&A deal in history.

Verizon shareholder Natalie Gordon filed the suit against Verizon, CEO Lowell C. McAdam and a host of other executives, alleging they violated their fiduciary duties by accepting the transaction, which is the third largest M&A deal in history, according to Thomson Reuters data.
