Airvana Settles $330M Ericsson Cell Tech Suit With Unit Sale

Law360, New York (September 6, 2013, 3:04 PM EDT) -- Airvana Network Solutions Inc. will sell a cellular data transmission division to Ericsson AB to settle the two companies' bitter $330 million New York state lawsuit over cellphone tower data transmission hardware designs, they said Friday.

Ericsson will acquire Airvana's evolution data optimized division, which handles software used in an older method of cellular data transmission in hardware at issue in the lawsuit, through an all-stock deal that includes 38 Airvana employees.
