Bronx Panel OKs World's Largest Indoor Ice Center

Law360, New York (September 18, 2013, 7:13 PM EDT) -- A Bronx community board voted Tuesday to approve a massive $275 million ice sports development at the 575,000-square-foot Kingsbridge Armory, despite its own land use committee having rejected the project.

The 20-5 vote came after some local residents had expressed concerns about the cost of the project, as well as parking and traffic issues, but Kingsbridge National Ice Center CEO Kevin Parker minimized the dissent at a public hearing Tuesday night, telling local news outlets that the firm “can't wait to get started.”
