Health Providers Sue Over Revoked Medicare Billing Privileges

Law360, New York (September 24, 2013, 2:03 PM EDT) -- A Medicare contractor and the U.S. health secretary were hit with a proposed class action Monday by two Texas-based home health care providers who claim their Medicare billing privileges were wrongfully revoked, allegedly in an attempt to push small businesses out of federal health programs. 

Houston-based firms Oakwest Healthcare Services Inc. and CJN Home Health Services Inc. argued that they had wrongfully lost their Medicare billing privileges over certain compliance issues, without getting a chance to appeal or take any corrective action, according to their suit...
