GC For Commodities Broker Gets Prison For Investment Fraud

Law360, New York (September 25, 2013, 5:37 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey attorney will serve 30 months in prison for his role in two separate investment schemes that bankrolled a performance by Sean "Diddy" Combs, a New York federal judge ruled on Tuesday.

A jury convicted Everette L. Scott Jr., of Elam & Scott LLP, of engaging in securities and wire fraud along with co-defendant Tyrone Gilliams Jr. in February. In the larger of the two schemes, the duo allegedly solicited and misappropriated $5 million in investments in a bogus U.S Treasury Strips investment program....
