Insurer Fights Coverage Of Ticketing Co.'s Data Leak

Law360, New York (September 27, 2013, 5:30 PM EDT) -- A subsidiary of The Travelers Companies Inc. on Thursday asked a California federal court to declare $7 million in liability insurance off-limits to an online box office facing an impending data breach class action.

Ticketing company Vendini Inc. is seeking defense and indemnity under its commercial general liability and technology umbrella liability coverage with St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company for a looming lawsuit from a putative class of ticket buyers who blame Vendini’s allegedly delinquent cybersecurity practices for a data theft incident.
