NY Times Pushes 2nd Circ. To Make Gov't Reveal Drone Docs

Law360, New York (October 1, 2013, 7:25 PM EDT) -- The New York Times asked the Second Circuit on Tuesday to force the government to admit the existence of legal documents on the assassination of suspected terrorists overseas, arguing the administration should not be allowed to cloak itself in secrecy.

The newspaper, whose reporters have investigated the Obama administration’s clandestine use of drones to kill terror-linked targets in other countries, wants the government to at least acknowledge whether legal analyses supporting the practice exist, lawyer David E.
