Zuccotti Park Owner Shakes Suit Over Occupy Eviction

Law360, New York (September 30, 2013, 12:42 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday tossed a lawsuit against Brookfield Office Properties Inc. alleging it wrongfully worked with police to evict protestors and others from its Zuccotti Park during Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, finding that the real estate corporation isn't liable for any alleged civil rights violations.

The decision shaves allegations against Brookfield, JPMorgan Chase & Co. and certain claims against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority from the suit, but leaves other defendants intact, such as the New York City Police Department, the city and...
