BP Defends Gulf Spill Response As Trial's 2nd Phase Begins

Law360, New Orleans (September 30, 2013, 2:15 PM EDT) -- BP PLC opened the second phase of the Deepwater Horizon trial on Monday insisting that it did everything possible to stop oil from gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, battling allegations that the company deliberately misled government officials and failed to have an appropriate response plan in place.
