Public-Private Partnerships Push Forward Despite Shutdown

Law360, New York (October 1, 2013, 7:25 PM EDT) -- Infrastructure and development projects led by public-private partnerships that include a federal component are feeling the squeeze of the government shutdown, with delays in funding and approvals, but experts say private developers are pushing forward, having prepared for the worst.

In many public-private partnerships, private developers team up with state or municipal governments to build bridges, roads and energy projects. Most of those projects will be unscathed by the shutdown because their exposure to the federal government is minimal, experts say.
