Chicago-Area School Board Member Cops To Kickback Plot

Law360, Chicago (October 4, 2013, 2:53 PM EDT) -- A former North Chicago School District board member pled guilty Friday to a lead role in a nearly ten-year scheme in which she accepted kickbacks in return for helping student transportation companies secure bus contracts worth millions.

Gloria Harper, 62, copped to one count of honest services wire fraud and another count of filing false tax returns at a hearing in Illinois federal court, becoming the last of five defendants to admit to taking part in the scheme.
