$1.25B Illiana Highway Moves Toward Green Light

Law360, New York (October 7, 2013, 9:19 PM EDT) -- The transportation committee of Chicago's Metropolitan Agency for Planning approved the controversial Illiana Corridor, a $1.25 billion highway linking interstates 55, 57 and 65 in Illinois and Indiana, in a 10-7 vote.

The project faces two more votes in October, with a CMAP board vote due Oct. 9 and a final verdict from CMAP's Metropolitan Planning Organization planning committee by Oct. 17. The second vote will determine whether the corridor is included in the state's 30-year strategic plan called GO TO 2040.
