Federal Circuit Sends Back Slot Patent Case

Law360 (February 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appellate court has overturned a ruling that invalidated Aristocrat Technologies Australia Pty Ltd.'s patent for a slot machine, finding that a lower court had not settled issues of fact regarding claims construction.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversed a lower court order granting Multimedia Games Inc.'s motion for summary judgment, and remanded the case to settle the outstanding issues.
