Marriott Sells Inferior Meat As 'Kobe Beef,' Suit Says

Law360, Chicago (October 15, 2013, 1:13 PM EDT) -- Marriott International Inc. was hit with a proposed class action in Illinois court Friday alleging the hotel chain charges guests for “Kobe beef” when it is actually serving cheaper, lower-quality meat.

Plaintiff Anthony Schittino contends he was a victim of Marriott’s deception at his Oct. 2011 wedding in Lincolnshire, Ill., where he and 300 guests were allegedly served faux Kobe beef sliders at one of the company’s resorts.
